Indian Medlars Centre - Free e-resources for Health Science Courses

  Indian Medlars Centre 
IMC, A Centre jointly setup by NIC and ICMR to cater to the information needs of medical community of India. It provides information from over 40 databases of MEDLARS, Internet resources and CDROM databases.  These services are backed by document support services, training programmes and other value added services.  IMC has also developed a database of Indian biomedical periodicals known as IndMEDdatabase and this at present has 75 journals covered from 1985 onwards. The IMC webpage has made web surfing easy for its users by providing links to over 100 biomedical Internet resources and Internet journals.  In addition, links to Diseases and Lectures by Medical experts are also available from the webpage.

As such no such resource is available that provides full-text of major Indian biomedical periodicals. There are some Indian journals that are available full-text over the Internet, but as such no attempt has been made to compile all the journals at one place and make them available Online from one point. There are other journals of which just the contents, with or without abstracts are available over the Internet. Hence, a need is there for one such central resource that would make available full-text of the Indian biomedical journals.
