British Library is going to organise English Language Teaching workshop on “Teaching Speaking Skills” for IELTS teachers & trainers. The workshop will update the teachers with latest methodologies which they can use for making teaching an effective and interesting affair.

Topic: Teaching Speaking Skills
Date and Time: Sunday, 27 March 2011, 10.00AM to 1.00PM

Resource Person: Prof. Deepti Gupta
Session aims:
· To discuss attitudes towards teaching speaking.
· To discuss issues of accuracy vs. fluency.
· To discuss different types of speaking activities we can do in the classroom and how these relate to the real world.
· To introduce and practice a variety of activities for developing the speaking skills.
· To discuss potential problems that may arise when teaching speaking skills.
Trainer Profile: Prof. Deepti Gupta is a freelance English Language Teaching professional. She is well qualified and extensively trained by the University of Cambridge and the British Council.
Registration Fee details:
For Access – 20 Member: Free of Cost for 1 Participant
For Access – 10 Member: Rs. 750/- per participant
For Non – Member: Rs. 1250/- per participant
Registration fee can be paid by cash/cheque/demand draft. Cheques and demand drafts should be in favour of British Library payable at Chandigarh.
